We Stand Tallest & Strongest On Our Knees
Dear Firefighters,
Around the world, Christian brothers and sisters are experiencing great persecution. Right now in Orissa, Chattisghat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, India, Christians are fleeing for their lives as many are being murdered.
Please pray for the Suffering Church through the world!
In a few days, men and women across the United States will exercise their constitutional right to vote for the candidates of their choice. In so doing, Americans will elect the next president and vice president, the 111th Congress, as well as state and local leaders nationwide. Yet, regardless of who wins or loses each of these contests, the Bible is clear about responsibility as believers.
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior.
1 Timothy 2:1-3
No matter who is ruling in our country, the Lord wants us to maintain a godly attitude and perspective. We should first and foremost remember that the Lord is the One who ultimately places people in authority.
It is He who changes the times and the epochs;
He removed kings and establishes kings.
Daniel 2:21
So how should we intercede for those in authority? First, we must prepare ourselves to go before the throne of grace. We can begin by asking the Father to make us aware of any sin in our own life, so we can repent of it. Second, we should ask the Lord to conform us to His will for our country - especially concerning the issues that affect our nation’s future.
Third, we must commit ourselves to intercede for our country even when we feel as though our prayers are going unanswered. Remember that God is always at work. He knows exactly what it will take to turn people’s hearts back to Him, and He is able to accomplish it. Have faith that you will see the fruit of your prayers in due time.
Fourth, God’s plan is to draw those who do not know Him to salvation. So pray in line with His will by asking the Lord to redeem those who are lost.
After preparing yourself to pray according to God’s plan and purpose, intercede for all your officials to:
Recognize their personal sinfulness and their need for the cleansing power of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Understand their inadequacy for the task before them and their need to pray for God’s wisdom, knowledge and courage.
Reject all counsel that violates the spiritual principles of God’s Word and be willing to trust God to lead them in the right direction.
Resist the pressures of those who would lead them astray or tempt them to disobey the Lord and His will for their lives.
Work to reverse the trend toward ungodliness in the land.
Be prepared to make godly choices in the best interest of the country, regardless of the cost.
Rely upon the Word of God and prayer for strength and success.
Maintain dignity, honor, trustworthiness, and righteousness in office.
Strive to be a godly example to the men, women, and children of the land.
Remember that while in office, they are accountable to God for their attitudes, actions, and motives.

NO MATTER WHO WINS THE ELECTION:
The Bible will still have all the answers.
Prayer will still work.
The Holy Spirit will still move.
God will still inhabit the praises of His people.
There will still be God-anointed preaching.
There will still be singing of praise to God.
God will still pour out blessings upon His people.
There will still be room at the Cross.
Jesus will still love you.
Jesus will still save the lost.
ISN'T IT GREAT TO KNOW WHO IS STILL IN CONTROL?
