Chapter History

With the blessing of the FFC International Leadership, our chapter started around 1998 by members of the Fairfield, California Fire Department after attending the annual Christian Firefighters retreat @ Hume Lake, Ca.  Our membership later expanded to include firefighters from several east bay area and north bay area fire departments.

We meet monthly for breakfast, bible study and fellowship. Some of our members serve as local Fire Chaplains and Critical Incident Stress Counselors. We have participated in numerous community events, including homeless feeding/witnessing, local community trash clean ups, and Fire Dept community outreach events.

In 2018, thanks to our leadership team of Steve and Julie Vucurevich, we hosted the 2018 annual Firefighters For Christ International conference in Fairfield. Members from Chapters throughout the U.S., Canada, Germany, England and Northern Ireland attended.

We strongly believe in God’s word and the importance it has in our hearts.  “A truthful witness saves lives, but a false witness is deceitful” Proverbs 14:25

We as firefighters are called to save lives physically. God calls us to save lives spiritually through His guidance. It is our mission to save as many lost firefighters and other emergency workers as possible. We welcome retired and active firefighters, and any other folks associated with the emergency services  profession.
