In March of 2015, at a Promise Keepers event in Edmonton, Steve was introduced to a gentleman who asked if there was still a Christian firefighter group in Edmonton?
He was intrigued and set out to find more information about what was in Edmonton in the years before.
He talked with 3 of the past members and Jesus put a restlessness in his heart to get something going again in Edmonton.
At the same time, Steve went to Stienbach, MB and the Lord led him to Russ Reimer, who had a FFC chapter in MB.
He paired up with another Christ follower and they started meeting monthly and prayed what it would look like to grow this ministry. They started to reach out to others that they knew and there have been times where up to 25 FF met for fellowship and there have been times where he was the only one that showed up. These lows caused him to question if this was still his calling from the Lord but everytime he decided to put his energies into something different, Jesus showed up and encouraged him to continue. There was always a text at the right moment or a visit from someone from MB or a phone call to help spur him on.
