What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Values

Firefighters For Christ mission goal is to encourage firefighters to live their lives for Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 10:24-25) Everything we think, say, or do must be filtered through this foundational purpose. This is our compass (GPS), which directs all Firefighters For Christ's ministries.

Our vision is to reach firefighters worldwide with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to make disciples of them.  Matthew 28:19-20

Our focus is to know and obey Jesus Christ. John 17:3, Philippians 3:10

Our blueprint for ministry is God’s Word. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Our ministry is patterned after Jesus, who came as a servant.

Philippians 2:5-11

Our trust is in the LORD, not man, to direct, guide and provide.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Our individual purity is critical to the effectiveness of ministry.

2 Peter 3:14, Ephesians 4:17-5:21

Our close relationship with Jesus is vital to our prayer life and produces fruit that will last forever. John 15:1-17, James 5:16b

The strategy and tactics may change, but these core values must be woven into the very fabric of the lives we live as Firefighters For Christ.

Doctrinal Statement

We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments as inspired by God and inerrant in the original writing and that these Scriptures are the supreme and final authority in faith and life.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility become sinners in thought, word and deed.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe and receive Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven and in His present life there for us, as High Priest and Advocate.

We believe in the blessed hope - the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.

Principles of Ministry

Biblical Foundation:

We recognize the Bible as the standard by which we must evaluate all belief, instruction, policy and practice. II Timothy 3:16

Qualifications of Leadership:

We select leaders of evident ability and character. Exodus 18:21, Acts 6:3,
I Timothy 3:1-13

Spiritual Resources and Commitment:

We desire to stay in close fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 2:4, I John 2:6, Colossians 1:9-10

We believe that we should pray continually concerning all facets of the ministry. Colossians 4:2

We desire to do the work of FFC's ministry in the Lord's wisdom and strength rather than trying to do it on our own.            Galatians 2:20, & James 1:5-6

We desire to show a consistent pattern of behavior that distinguishes us as the Lord's people. Acts 4:13, I Peter 1:14-15, Titus 2:7-8

We desire to always trust in God and do what is right. I Peter 3:16

Concern for Those We Serve:

We desire to provide the kind of personal, prompt and practical-attention that we would want for ourselves. II Corinthians 4:5, 15

We desire to speak the truth in love. II Timothy 2:14

Quality of Service:

We strive for a quality of workmanship and presentation that will dignify, strengthen and enhance the Lord's message. I Corinthians 10:31

We acknowledge our stewardship for every resource entrusted to us.
I Corinthians 4:2

We are NOT a political organization or a pressure group to make demands on those in authority over us. Instead we follow I Timothy 2:1-8.

We are NOT an organization that exerts pressure to bring about social change. Instead we present Christ. (Romans 1:16) We believe it is the Holy Spirit who changes hearts and brings conviction of sin.

We are NOT an organization that is run by a majority of its members. Instead we follow Acts 6:3-7.

We evaluate our meetings, activities, projects, etc. by asking this question: "Are we encouraging firefighters to live their lives for Jesus Christ?"

We ARE a non-profit faith-funded ministry. Financial support is provided as God moves on the hearts of His people. FFC does not solicit donations, sponsorship from agencies or participate in fund-raisers of any kind, including raffles, etc. We do not put out donation containers at our outreach events. We also do not require dues of its membership. We practice the principal, "Where God guides, He provides." We pray for God’s provision to provide for every facet of FFC’s ministries, no matter how large or small. We rely totally on the Holy Spirit of God to put it on people’s hearts to fund the ministry of Firefighters For Christ, whether it is for a chapter or the international ministry.

Focus and Goals

Our Focus

To know Christ!

After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:

"Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.

Now this is eternal life: that they may know you. the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." John 17:1-3

"I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead." Philippians 3:10

Our Goal

To encourage firefighters to live their lives for Jesus Christ!

Firefighters For Christ's ministry is built on Hebrews 10:24-25.

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching".

We meet together regularly to: Spur one another on toward love and good deeds and to encourage one another more and more to live our lives for Jesus Christ.
